Tripcatcher

Tripcatcher is an easy to use mileage app; used by accountants, bookkeepers and SME’s for their clients and employees who use their own vehicle, or company car, for business.

Mileage can be recorded on your phone (iOS and Android apps) and through the web app. Tripcatcher has GPS and an “Add Trip” form that uses Google Maps to calculate the distance travelled. You can set up favourites and default home and office locations on the phone app.

HMRC compliance is easy, with default HMRC recommended rates already setup in Tripcatcher eg 45ppm (reducing to 25ppm after 10,000 miles) for cars and vans. You can claim for passengers too (5ppm). The Advisory Fuel Rates used for company cars and claiming the VAT on mileage are also set up as defaults.

Your mileage expenses are calculated using the rates set up. And for drivers who are VAT registered, Tripcatcher will calculate the VAT on mileage for both private and company cars. These mileage expenses can be published seamlessly to Xero (Bills or Classic Expenses), Receipt Bank or Expensify as well as to PDF or Excel.
