Bright Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of MyWorkpapers

Bright, a leading software company specialising in tax, accounting, finance, and payroll solutions, has expanded its product portfolio with the acquisition of MyWorkpapers, a digital working papers platform widely used by accountants and auditors in the UK, Ireland, and Australia.

MyWorkpapers, launched in 2009 as a flagship auditing application, has evolved into a comprehensive suite of specialised workpaper packs designed to enhance efficiency and collaboration within accountancy firms. The software is recognised for its ability to streamline workflows, ensure compliance, and improve productivity during various types of engagements.

Rich Neal, Chief Executive Officer of MyWorkpapers, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the potential for increased practice efficiency through cloud-based solutions. Neal noted the opportunity for deeper integration between MyWorkpapers and Bright's existing products, emphasising the potential to deliver a fully integrated, cloud-native accounting suite. He remarked, "The formation of this new relationship further builds on our strength – enhancing the daily operations and capabilities of accounting firms in the UK and Ireland."

Bright, established in 2021, has quickly become a key player in providing software solutions to accountants, bookkeepers, SMEs, and payroll bureaus across the UK and Ireland. The addition of MyWorkpapers to the Bright Software Group offers accountants a seamless end-to-end service, from bookkeeping to final accounts and tax returns, delivered in an efficient and compliant manner.

Stephen Murdoch, Chief Executive Officer at Bright, noted that the acquisition aligns with the company's commitment to customer-centric growth. "After getting to know the MyWorkpapers team, we're thrilled that they share our values and commitment to enabling accountants to deliver high-quality, efficient services to their clients. This is a significant milestone in Bright's mission to further support businesses and accounting professionals across the UK and Ireland," he said.
