New overtime rates

We’ve now added two more overtime rates to our system. As well as the regular rates (Normal, Saturday, Sunday, Bank Holiday) your client will now be able to use an Evening rate or a Night rate. They will be able to select if they want to use these rates, and will also be able to choose what to set them at, from their company settings (Settings > Hours and Holiday > Overtime Settings). We hope that this improved range of choice will make managing overtime payments a little easier for your clients.

Payroll improvements

We’ve been working hard on improvements to our payroll software and have made two notable changes. The first one is that the payslips are looking a lot nicer; your clients can now have their company logo on them — we think they look great! We have also added a custom pay option; this lets your client set up a new pay element and specify whether it is subject to National Insurance or Pension or not. This is something we’ve had requested a lot - we hope your clients enjoy it! 

Xledger integration

We are pleased to say our Xledger integration is now live. This integration will allow your clients to send their payroll information from their software to Xledger, it works in a similar way to our integrations with Xero and QuickBooks Online. If your client is an Xledger customer, then this is something that will really help them speed them through their payroll. 

Payroll bureau

We will launch a payroll bureau product in June. This uses our current payroll software as its base, and adds screens and tools to make it a breeze to run payroll for clients. It is cloud-based, of course, so you can run payrolls from anywhere; your client will also have the ability to update important information (holidays, sickness/absence, salary changes etc.) themselves, saving you having to do that. King's Coronation bank holiday

We have an extra bank holiday coming up on Monday 8th May 2023. You’ll be pleased to know this is already added into your client's system (for those of them using our standard England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland bank holiday options.) We know that some companies want to opt out of this bank holiday, so, if your client did not give an extra day for the Queen’s funeral in 2022, we will automatically set them to not give the extra bank holiday in 2023. To remove this bank holiday your client can change their employees onto the ‘without additional bank holidays’ option in the holiday section of their file.

Feature of the month – Incident Book

This month we wanted to draw your attention to one of our health and safety features - the Incident Book. It’s very easy to use and can be found in your client's actions menu (Actions > Health & Safety > Incident book).

Our Incident Book makes it simple and quick to record any accidents that have occurred at work, and thus your clients can fulfil their obligations as an employer. They'll be able to note down the details of the incident, as well as any of the employees that were involved. They can write recommendations that will help prevent this type of accident in the future, and upload related files e.g. pictures or maybe even witness statements.

The benefit of recording this on their system is that it’s means that anyone (with the right permission level) can access it and add to it. And it also means that – unlike a physical book - the information can’t be lost! We think this feature is a helpful asset when it comes to health and safety compliance and just one more tool to make your client's life a little easier.
